Rooted: Where is God in the Midst of Suffering

Episode Summary

In uncertain times, we need a faith that is grounded in God and his truth. When life feels out of control, we need regular rhythms that help us walk with God. This is what Rooted is all about! Hope you'll join us as we seek to deepen our connection with God, his church, and your purpose!

Episode Notes

There are some things we choose to do that bring suffering.

Sometimes suffering comes and we have no control or choice in the matter.

“My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?

    Why are you so far from saving me,

    so far from my cries of anguish?

My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer,

    by night, but I find no rest.

Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One;

    you are the one Israel praises.

In you our ancestors put their trust;

    they trusted and you delivered them.

To you they cried out and were saved;

    in you they trusted and were not put to shame.” Psalm 22:1

Two tracks we often walk down when there’s suffering:

· The ANGER track.

· The GUILT track.

Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.”  John 9:3

God’s silence does not mean God is absent.

If we’re going to suffer well and persevere through it, we need God’s help.

“Father, my best place on earth is in your presence.”
