Jonah 2

2 Truths about God:

1. God is SOVEREIGN.

2 Extremes:

• DEISM
• DETERMINISM

3 Means:

• PERMISSION
• DETERRENCE
• INFLUENCE

God is never absent, never out of control, never hands-off.

2. God is SAVIOR.

“Salvation comes from the Lord.” Jonah 2:9b

Takeaway:

• TRUST in God – because He is Sovereign.

• Give THANKS to God – because He is Savior.

“As for you, were dead in your transgressions and sins… But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ… For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God…” Ephesians 2:1, 4, 5a, 8
